UPLAND -- A brush fire in Ontario late Monday afternoon was under control, though hot spots continued to burn into the evening hours. The fire was aided by heavy wind in the area, blowing it onto a ranch with horse stables. Firefighters from Ontario and Chino got between the fire and those horse stalls and were able to protect the horses. "All you could see was smoke, and the smoke was so intense, you couldn't see the corner down there," resident Evonne Serl said. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
